And being the very modern royals that they are, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a never-before-seen photograph to social media of their little man, who arrived on May 6 – just in time for the annual day!

“Paying tribute to all mothers today – past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered,” the couple wrote on their Instagram page, alongside a photo of Meghan holding little Archie’s feet.

“We honour and celebrate each and every one of you.

“Today is Mother’s Day in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, Japan, and several countries across Europe.”

And there was something extra special about this Instagram post.

In a nod to Prince Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, the mother and son posed against an abundance of Forget-Me-Not flowers, Di’s favourites.

Meghan and Harry finished their special words with a quote by Nayyirah Waheed.

“My mother was my first country; the first place I ever lived.”

According to a source, the new mum spent her very first Mother’s Day with Harry and Doria Ragland.

“She’s super excited,” the source told PEOPLE of Meghan’s mum Doria.

“She and Meghan are so close.”

And, “Harry really gets on well with her too,” said another. “Any new mum wants her own mom around at this time, so it’s great.”
