The complete list of Michelin star restaurants in Sydney

In Sydney, we’re spoilt for choice with some of the best restaurants in Australia (and the world). From Japanese infusion to modern Australian even contemporary Italian, there’s something for every occasion and palette.  

Not familiar with the Michelin Guide? The Michelin star system, created in 1900, was a simple little red guidebook created to help encourage more motorists to take to the road and stop off and enjoy delicious meals as they go. The guide has grown to include over 30,000 restaurants and has sold over 30 million copies. 

For international travellers, in particular, it can be a difficult decision on choosing one without a guide, if you’re after a ranking system try the Australian Good Food Guides Chef Hat's. 

As the Michelin Star rating system is yet to hit Aussie shores, we decided to write a list of all of the Sydney restaurants that are Michelin Star standard.

Tetsuya is owned and operated by Tatsuya Wakuda it is known for using only the freshest of local Australian ingredients. Wakuda combines French culinary skills and a Japanese twist to create one of Sydney’s best degustation menus. Our pick is their signature dish, the Tasmanian Ocean Trout.

Part of the Merivale Group, Mr Wong’s is one for the senses. This lavish French Colonial spans two levels, oozing with ambience and packed with flavour. Our pick is the King crab with golden soup, crystal dumpling.
