200 g dark cooking chocolate, chopped
200 g unsalted butter, chopped plus extra for greasing
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 cup plain flour
¼ tsp baking powder
¾ cup mixed dried fruit
250 g strawberries, to serve
300 ml thickened cream to serve
- Preheat oven to 170°C. Grease a 25 x 16cm slice tin and line base and sides with baking paper. Put the chocolate and butter in a small saucepan over a low heat. Stir until mixture is melted and smooth. Set aside to cool for 10 minutes.
- Put sugar, eggs, flour and baking powder in a large bowl and whisk to combine. Stir in dried fruit and cooled chocolate mixture. Pour into prepared tin and bake for 40 minutes or until set. Cool completely in tin. Use a serrated knife to cut into slices. Serve with strawberries and cream.
