The mother of two boys who were bashed in a Coles car park in Melbourne's south has issued a desperate plea for information on her sons' attackers.
Amanda Higgins says her sons Lochie and Reuben, aged 17 and 20, were attacked at a Mornington parking lot in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Both were taken to the emergency department of the Alfred Hospital with serious head injuries.
Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Amanda shared images of her sons, bruised and in neck braces, to social media, asking for any help in identifying the perpetrators.
"If anyone saw or knows anything please let me know," she said.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman confirmed the attack to 7NEWS.com.au and said they are investigating.
It was later revealed that a 28-year-old Lyndhurst man presented himself to police later Saturday afternoon.
No charges have been laid and the man is assisting police with their inquiries.
Investigators are searching for a "group of males" who ran from the supermarket car park at about 3am.
They are believed to have jumped into a nearby car and fled the scene
It remains unclear whether the attack was captured on CCTV cameras outside the shopping centre.
