Resurfaced footage from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s May 19 wedding has shown the incredibly sweet moment between the bride and new sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.
In the video from the special day, a woman in a cream-coloured ensemble and matching hat can be seen handing Meghan her bridal bouquet as she enters St George’s Chapel in Windsor.
Many royal fans are convinced the mystery woman is the Duchess of Cambridge, showing just how strong the new sisters bond is.
It’s likely that when Kate Middleton entered the chapel alongside Meghan’s best friend Jessica Mulroney, and the page boys and bridesmaids, she stood at the entrance ready for Meghan’s arrival.
Later, the duchess would quickly dash back to her seat at the front of the chapel alongside Prince William, Camilla Parker-Bowles and Prince Charles.
However, it has been refuted that the most likely explanation is that the woman handing Meghan her flowers is the Queen’s assistant private secretary, Samantha Cohen.
The Australian-born royal staffer was wearing light-coloured outfit on the day, not unlike the Duchess of Cambridge’s.
Cohen, 49, is set to become Prince Harry’s private secretary when the current head of the couple’s household leaves this summer. She was also tasked with helping Meghan behind the scenes, helping the new duchess with protocol and navigating how to address people and manage her new position in the royal world, an insider previously told PEOPLE.
Whether the footage shows Kate or not, it’s clear Meghan and her new sister-in-law have formed a close bond.
A royal source told Vanity Fair that Kate has reached out to Meghan to offer support as the ‘Markle Debarcle’ grows worse.
‘She’s been very sympathetic to what’s been going on with Meghan and her dad,’ the source says.
‘Kate’s made a real effort to be kind to Meghan and to include her. They’re quite different characters but they get along well.’
