Says Food Standards Australia: ‘The recall is due to potential microbial Salmonella Enteritidis contamination. Food products contaminated with Salmonella may cause illness if consumed.
‘Wny consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice and should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund.’
Salmonella symptoms can take between six and 72 hours to develop in those who may have come into contact with the contaiminated food, and can last between three and seven days.
Symptoms can include fever, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, headache, stomach, cramps, nausea and vomiting.
However these symptoms can be a lot worse in young children, pregnant women, older people and those who are immunocompromised.
The recall comes less than a month since eggs were pulled off the shelves at Woolworths and Coles amid a huge recall. Since then, there have been another two recalls - as well as today’s.
