It seems Coles and Woolworths customers around the country have been falling into the same trap at the meat section.
Many have been left infuriated by what has been called ‘misleading' product packaging when it comes to vegan 'meat' products.

It’s easy to see what the noise is all about with packing clearly marked ‘Chicken’, ‘Meaty range’ and ‘Meat’ - even though they're plant-based foods with no, er, meat.
“Yuck, I bought these, I didn’t realise they were meat free, they have been sat in the freezer ever since”, said one disgruntled shopper.
“No way I’d eat that, the labelling is so deceiving”, said another. “There is even a CHICKEN on the packaging!!”.
Shoppers have been complaining that the packaging is misleading.

Added a third: 'And it's not like the vegan meat is in its own section - at my local they're mixed in amongst the proper meat. I keep buying it by accident, it's driving me nuts. The other day I bought one that said meaty on it! And it most definitely wasn't meaty lol.'
Said another: “I accidentally bought these the other day thinking they were chicken, lol they do NOT taste like chicken, but the dogs seemed to enjoy them”.
A shopper accidentally bought this thinking it was chicken - understandably so!
