But while some fellow Discovery Garden fans dismissed her fears, another social media user wrote: ‘I would feel a lot better about eating them if they were all Australian seeds, that’s for sure.’
However Woolworths has unequivocally denied that the seeds aren’t safe for consumption. They have also reiterated that while the kits are packaged in Poland, 14 of the seeds in the collection come from Europe and New Zealand - while the rest are from Australia.
Says a spokesperson: ‘All components have met strict biosecurity regulations to enable us to import seed kits to Australia. These have all been cleared and imported in line with the requirements for the Australian Department of Agriculture.
‘Ten of the seeds in the full collection are sourced right here from Australia too.
'All of the seeds are quality non-GMO.
