The new Ooshies line-up was originally held back from release in Victoria as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of shoppers during stage 4 lockdown.
However, with restrictions slightly easing across the state as of this week the wait is finally over.
"We know many of our customers in Victoria have been waiting patiently for the arrival of Woolworths' Disney+ Ooshies and we're thrilled to introduce them across the state from this Wednesday. Victorians have had an incredibly challenging year and we hope this collection helps bring some well-deserved excitement and magic to their shop," says Woolworths Chief Marketing Officer Andrew Hicks.
To mark the occasion two new ultra-rare Ooshies are being released across all states. A furry Thor and The Child from Mandalorian (better known as baby Yoda).
Both are limited edition with only 100 of each to claim, if you're lucky enough to find one of these two you'll know because they are marked with a number between 1-100.
After the success of the Lion King themed Ooshies which saw collectors dropping a casual $50,000 for the rarest items, Woolworths was quick to organise a new line.
The full 36 characters have been revealed, and the list includes Ana and Elsa (Frozen), Elastigirl (The Incredibles), Russel (Up), Hulk, and Black Widow (The Avengers) and Ray (Star Wars) among others.
The collection will also include silver, gold, hologram, colour changing, and glow-in-the-dark editions.
Speculation began mid last year that the next Ooshies collection would be Marvel characters, however, Woolworths quickly shut down the claim. While the rumours were true, shoppers will get much more than they hoped for, with the line-up extending to other characters from Disney+ franchises.
For the new collection, Woolworths has partnered with TerraCycle again so that customers can return their unwanted Ooshies to any Woolworths store, even their Lion King Ooshies. There will be dedicated bins in every Woolworth's store that will remain until January 31. This ensures the plastic toy gets repurposed.
The last collection caused panic across Woolworth stores, as locations quickly ran out of Ooshies, which encouraged shoppers to travel outside of their local shops in search of more.
With most shoppers going in search of the rare Simba ‘fuzzy’ Lion King collectable, which had only 100 available across the country.
Others found the Ooshies to be a danger, with one dog owner warning against Ooshies as a choking hazard to pets.
With every $30 spent at any participating Woolworths, one figurine can be claimed until stocks last.
