While some of us might be worried about over-indulging over the Christmas break, science is now telling us to not worry about a few extra kilos.
A study done by the University of Oxford reveals that women with larger behinds are not only smarter, but they’re healthier as well. Pass us a donut!
Researchers looked at data from 16,000 women and found that those with a bigger backside are extremely resistant to chronic illness and have an above-average intelligence.
Oxford University also found that women with rounder butts are prone to lower levels of cholesterol and have higher levels of Omega 3 - a good fat with many health benefits. They also have higher levels of a chemical that helps fight off cardiovascular disease and inflammation.
‘The idea that body fat distribution is important to health has been known for some time,’ head researcher of the study professor Konstantinos Manolopoulous revealed. ‘However, it is only very recently that thigh fat and a large hip circumference have been shown to promote health; that lower body fat is protective by itself.’
Looks like Kim Kardashian and Beyonce had the right idea this whole time!
