Phoebe Burgess, the wife of NRL superstar Sam Burgess, has taken to Instagram to break her silence three days after her Rabbitohs player husband became embroiled in a sexting scandal, and the couple appear to be putting on a united front.
Phoebe, who is currently 5 months pregnant with the couple’s second child, took to the social media platform to share a picture of herself sitting in the sun beside the pair’s 19-month-old daughter, Poppy.
Although not directly commenting on the scandal, Phoebe decided to tag Sam into the photo and write: ‘Moments in the sun with out babies.’
A man’s shadow can also be seen in the sweet snap.
The rugby club is currently investigating two players after a 23-year-old came forward claiming they exposed themselves to her during a Facebook video chat in May.
The Daily Telegraph verified that the social media accounts at the centre of the saga belong to Burgess.
The club announced on Friday that it had set up a five-person panel to look into the incident, including NRL investigator Karyn Murphy, but it is unclear how long the investigation will take.
This is the second time in as many weeks the governing body has been forced to address off-field issues, beginning with Canterbury’s Mad Monday antics that resulted in a $250,000 fine.
