Controversial English television presenter Piers Morgan is known for his brash commentary and he sure didn't hold back against famous chef Gordon Ramsey, giving him a taste of his own harsh medicine.
The journalist took to social media to call Gordon Ramsey's new vegan roast "revolting."
The comment was in response to Ramsay adding a vegan roast to the menu of his London restaurant, 'Bread Street Kitchen'
Others also slammed the menu saying, 'I wouldn't feed it to my dog' - ouch.
Both Morgan and Ramsey have been openly opposed to vegan food, with Ramsey even publicly calling animal activist group PETA (which stands for "People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals") “People Eating Tasty Animals”
Well, it seems Ramsay put his serious business pants on and had a change of heart in order to capitalise on the vegan food movement/trend which is becoming more widespread around the world.
The sentiment from Morgan (although said in jest as both personalities are actually friends) was shared by many other Twitter users who posted comments like, "Never seen a roast look less appetising." and "Wouldn't give that to my dog."
Of course, Gordon wasn't going to take the public insult lying down. He responded with an equally public comment on the James Cordon show: "So Piers Morgan is now a food critic?! Go and **** yourself! Seriously? Really?” He added, “Veganism is on the rise, we’ve got to adapt and eat a slice of humble pie.”
The article further highlights, "The celebrity chef has added a number of plant-based options to his restaurant’s menus. In Singapore’s location of Bread Street Kitchen, he recently launched the “bleeding” vegan Impossible Burger. In London, he offers a number of vegan roast options in his restaurants, as part of his “Roast Revolution” campaign."
Someone Ramsay finally DID have on his side, was PETA. They posted the below...
