A shopper has been hit with a one-year supermarket ban after a heated fight over a Flybuys freebie.
Police were called after a shopper allegedly scratched and pushed a security guard after refusing to leave the Coles store in Neutral Bay, Sydney, over the dispute.
The Daily Telegraph reports that the argument started when the Sydney man was buying groceries at 11.30pm on Saturday night and became angry when staff refused to give him an item he wanted for free using his Flybuys points.
The agitated shopper was asked to leave by security when the argument became more heated, but he refused - resulting in a guard attempting to escort him from the supermarket by holding his wrist.
It’s claimed the man then became increasingly angry, allegedly scratching and pushing the security - leading staff to call police.
The Daily Telegraph reports that the man later apologised for his actions and no charges were laid.
However the incident has lead Coles to ban the shopper from the store for 12 months.
