It’s believed she became enraged after staff asked her to show a receipt for the items in her trolley.
‘She slapped his hand off the trolley, then to get him away from the trolley she walked at him, then slapped him in the chest (near the neck),’ a witness claimed to the Geelong Advertiser.
‘She was pulling and screaming calling them everything under the sun.
‘He just did his job, stayed calm and tried to keep the trolley in the store.’
It’s alleged the woman then fled the store - with the trolley.
‘The Kmart worker, after her (the accused) jumping around and carrying on, then told the security guard to just leave it as she was about to break the security buzzer,’ the witness told the Geelong Advertiser.
Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident and that no arrests have been made at this stage.
“We are in the process of making enquiries with Belmont Kmart,” Waurn Ponds Senior Constable Matt Nauta told the Geelong Advertiser.
