Mashed potato - with a very fun twist!
1 2/3 cups mashed potatoes
1 beaten egg
3 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons potato starch
Salt and pepper to taste
Vegetable oil for frying
Place potato, egg, milk, parmesan, potato starch, salt and pepper in a bowl and stir to combine, using a fork to mash ingredients together.
Place mixture into a piping bag. Heat large frypan over medium to high heat and add oil. When oil is hot, use piping bag to pipe in potato mixture to form a spiral coil shape, straight into the oil. Repeat, doing three spirals at a time. Cook until golden brown, and remove and dry on kitchen paper to drain off excess oil.
Repeat process with remaining mixture, and serve.
