A new tell-all royal book has revealed the Queen’s anger over her youngest son, Prince Edward’s “disloyalty” claims he made about his sister-in-law Sarah Ferguson.
Ingrid Seward, author of Prince Edward: A Biography claims Edward blamed Fergie for the making a fool of his brother,” Prince Andrew and became “convinced that she had leaked information about his burgeoning relationship with his now-wife Sophie Ryhs-Jones.
While Edward and Sophie’s relationship had been dubbed “the least complicated royal romance of modern times” after it began in 1993, she still came under intense public scrutiny, with the media speculating on everything from her “true hair colour to whether or not she had a good singing voice.”
The Queen, who has remained very fond of her daughter-in-law, Sarah Ferguson, summoned Edward into her private sitting room at the Palace, and “explained to him how unfair it was to accuse the Duchess of such disloyalty”.
To his credit, Edward is said to have immediately apologised to his mother.
