King Charles III has made his first public appearance since revealing he was diagnosed with cancer in February.

The 75-year-old attended an Easter Mattins service at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle alongside his wife Queen Camilla on Easter Sunday.
Speaking with royal fans, the King told a well-wisher that he was “doing his best” in the face of his current health battles.
The couple was joined by several other members of the royal family including Princess Anne and her husband Sir Timothy Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and their son the Earl of Wessex, and even Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah, Duchess of York.
Given the Princess of Wales is currently undertaking a course of preventative chemotherapy for her own cancer diagnosis, it came as no surprise that she, the Prince of Wales, and their three children were not in attendance.
It has been reported that the family have been spending time together at their ten-bedroom country home, Anmer Hall, in Norfolk while the children are on their school holidays.
Shortly after the outing, a Buckingham Palace source revealed to The Sun that the Easter outing was a “significant step” for the King.
“As can be seen, The King has responded to treatment very encouragingly over [the] past weeks and his doctors were thus able to adjust their guidance slightly on what His Majesty is now able to undertake.
“To be clear, His Majesty’s treatment continues and caution is of course the watchword, but as diary plans are evolved towards summer, we hope to see more of these carefully calibrated steps towards the resumption of some public-facing duties for The King, with adjustments made where necessary.
“Nothing will be confirmed until nearer the time, plans remain in flux and are subject to medical guidance, but there is great hope and optimism from both doctors and the patient.”
The statement finished by noting that it was hoped that the general public would now feel more “reassured” that His Majesty was doing well and that “the road ahead” was looking positive.
The Easter Sunday church service was smaller than usual and marked the first major public appearance of the monarch in two months.
While the King has been seen publicly a handful of times since February, notably when he arrived back in London after a short break in Sandringham, he suspended all his public-facing royal duties as he receives treatment.
Other members of the royal family have stepped up in his stead, picking up engagements and other official duties on his behalf.
Charles is however still continuing with relevant state business behind closed doors, including his regular weekly meeting with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
In 2023, to mark the first Easter church service outing since Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II passed away in September 2022 the royal family was out in full force.
Led by the King and Queen, the royals in attendance included the Wales family, the Tindall clan, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and their children, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and the families of his daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, and more.
