Three words: chicken parmigiana pizza.
Sounds unreal, but it is in fact very real thanks to Prince Lane Bar in Perth who invented the mind-boggling hybrid that is now featured in their April and May menu.
Of course, after our initial response of “omg, yum!” comes the second thought: what parts of it are a parmi and which are a pizza?
From what we can see, they take a chicken parmigiana – chicken breast schnitzel, topped with delicious Napoletana sauce with grilled cheese all browned and bubbling on top – make it a circle and cut it like a pizza. Voila!
Who knew all we wanted from a parmigiana was to not have to use a pesky knife and fork?
If you’re in Perth and keen to get along and check out the chicken parmi pizza for yourself, hold out for a Thursday when the pizza and a pint will cost just $20.
We also unexpectedly stumbled over an interesting language hurdle when reporting on this cheesy chicken dream dinner: do you say “parmi” or “parma”?
