This has sparked a huge online debate amongst South Australian residents and also Aussies in other parts of the country.
“Here comes the nanny state, is there anything we are allowed to do anymore? Now they have to see what is inside our bins to - MADNESS!”
“Have they nothing better to do at the council??”
“a delightful insight into the life cycle of maggots “
There has also been lots of support for the bold move.
“Great idea if it makes us more conscious of what we send to landfill.”
“This would only work if they also emptied the recycling bins weekly too, mine is always overflowing and it forces my family to use the waste bin.”
It’s believed the idea started with Facebook page Face Your Waste. An online community dedicated to reducing Australia’s waste and recycling issues.
