A shopper has taken to social media to reveal her horror after finding what she believes to be ‘a pill’ in her Coles brand tuna.
Posting on Coles Facebook page, shopper Siobhan says she made the unsettling find after opening up the canned fish - only to find the mystery ‘pill’ on top.
She writes: ‘So I opened a can of tuna and noticed a white spot on the top.
‘Thinking it was mould i investigates with a fork to find what looks like a slightly dissolved pill?!! Wtf coles? It’s your own brand of tuna.’
Siobhan went on to clarify that it was Coles Tuna in Springwater, also sharing a photo, above, of the suspicious find.
Siobhan went on to explain that the pill ‘dissolved really quick after I found it, I think it had preserved it somehow’ - and says she had even investigated whether it could’ve landed in there after she opened it, but said it wasn’t likely.
‘I opened it and had the toast there ready to put the tuna on so was no time, it had to of been in there prior,’ she explains. ‘I don’t keep and medicines in the pantry so it can’t of just fallen on the lid can and dropped in when I opened it.’
New Idea Food has contacted Coles for comment.
