It’s here! The full and final trailer for the last chapter in the Star Wars saga. Yes, a new preview for The Rise of Skywalker has just dropped, and it has fans around the world talking.

The stunning preview – which is even better than the last trailer – starts with footage of our hero Rey running through the forest, lightsaber drawn, apparently being dogged by an unseen foe.

Then we see her old offsider Fin, as he says, ‘It’s an instinct, a feeling, the force brought us together.’

We see the blockade runner spaceship from the original1977 Star Wars film lifting off from a jungle, before we are transported to a raging sea, where Rey is once again facing off with her foe and possible love interest, Kylo Ren.

‘People keep telling me they know me,’ she says. ‘No one does.”

To which Kylo replies, ‘I do’

Then we cut to old favourite C3PO bidding what appears to be a final farewell to his friends, in scenes that are likely to have even the hardest Star Wars fan reaching for the tissues.

But the biggest thrill is left for the end, when we see Rey and Kylo destroy what appears to be a Darth Vader shrine, possibly featuring his armour, and we hear the voice of Emperor Palpatine, who seemingly died a very final death in Return of The Jedi.

Whatever happened to him after he plummeted down that reactor shaft, it seems he is very much back from dead, and again causing trouble for the galaxy.

But there is hope, with the voice of the recently deceased Luke Skywalker affirming, ‘Confronting fear is the destiny of the Jedi.’

Will good prevail over evil? You’ll have to wait until December to find out. But in the meantime, let’s watch the trailer again.
