A Sydney shopper has taken to Facebook to reveal her horror at finding ‘sharp plastic pieces’ in her sushi, purchased demo Coles.
In a post on the supermarket’s social media page, shopper Linnéa Eriksson tells how she bought a ‘smoked salmon munch box’ on special for $3.50 on Saturday.
But it was only when she bit into the sushi later on that she made the disturbing discovery, saying that the foreign plastic was sharp enough to make her gums bleed.
She writes: 'Found sharp plastic pieces in my sushi, was hard enough to hurt my teeth and sharp enough to make my gums bleed, thank god i didn’t swallow it!!
'How can I report this and what should I do? Pretty shocked, definitely not having sushi for a while again.’
Linnéa shared a photo of the shocking plastic pieces, which look like long, sharp shards.
Coles have confirmed they’re investigating the matter, telling Yahoo News Australia: 'Coles takes the quality of all our products seriously.
‘We have contacted the customer and will follow up with our supplier to investigate the matter.
‘As always we encourage customers to return any item they’re not 100 per cent happy with to their nearest store for a full refund or replacement.’
