‘And what is more surprising - it only has 2kgs of mince in it (1kg chicken, 1kg beef)! All the rest vegetables... everyone vows it’s the best lasagne they have ever tasted. Cost: $120! With ingredients left over.’
Revealing her recipe, Zan writes: ‘I pretty much just get every vegetable I can from Aldi and cube it using the food processor, then at lots of Italian herbs and tomatoes, boil it down with the mince, put a few vegetable stock cubes in. And that’s it!
‘The butter with flour to make roux and add the milk and cheese for the white sauce. A lot of white sauce! Then layer!’
And while Zan’s post drew a little criticism from some who were questioning how she got so many portions from the one dish, others defended her.
‘A 25kg lasagna cut into 63 serves is 396g a serve,’ said one. ‘That's a similar size to some frozen lasagna single serves. They are just going to be tall thin serves instead of low and wide serves.’
Added another: ‘Y'all here complaining about the number of servings, while I'm here trying to figure out how the pan is clean without excess cheese and sauce stuck on it. 🤷 Kudos 😁’
Said one more: ‘Some people are so rude. Well done. I wish my oven was that big.’
Added another: ‘Now that's what I call a lasagne! Yum!! Well done!’
