If you’ve already started collecting Woolworths Discovery Garden free plants, you’re probably wondering one things - which seed varieties are the rarest?
In recent times, ultra rare supermarket promotion collectables have earned some fans big bucks, with various collectables selling for thousands on eBay.
A Golden Stikeez mini from the Coles promotion earlier this year fetched $20,000 in an online auction, while a super rare Furry Simba from Woolworths’ recent Lion King Ooshies promotion scoring one seller almost $100,000. Woah.
And while Woolworths haven’t so far announced whether they’ll be releasing an ultra rare plant collectable with their Discovery Garden promotion, collectors have already noticed that there are three plants are rarer than most.
While Cress, Rocket, Dill and Thyme appear to be the most common plants, Discovery Garden fans say the Radish, Chilli and Coriander plant kits are the hardest to come by. And of the three, it's claimed that the Radish Discovery Garden plant kit is the most rare.
Chilli is considered to be one of the rarest of the Discovery Garden plants ...
Coriander is considered very hard to come by ...
As is the humble old radish!
‘We believe they’re definitely the rarest,’ said one collector. ‘We haven’t seen many fans or collectors land one of these so far - and none have found a radish plant.
‘It’s hard to know how much they’ll be worth at this stage - but as time goes on, they will wind up on buy, swap sell groups and eBay and we will get more of an idea.
‘But maybe hundreds? Time will tell!’
So if you do come across one of the rare Chilli, Radish and Coriander plant kits, it’s worth hanging onto - you could be sitting on a gold mine!
