Sick of tripping over school bags and lunchboxes that seem to constantly pile up in your hallway?
Well the clever ladies at the amazing Kmart Mums Australia Facebook group have come up with an ingenious hack to solve all your clutter woes, and we couldn't love it more.
It involves purchasing two $35 cube storage units from Kmart and assembling one as per the instructions. With the second unit, however, the Kmart Mums advise that you NOT install the middle shelf - creating four long shelves.
Then it’s as simple as placing the fully assembled cube storage unit on the bottom lengthways then place the storage unit with shelves on top of it - and using some strong glue or screws to keep it in place.
The end result is a fabulous storage unit - perfect for hallways or anywhere in your home - that has compartments to store schoolbags for four kids, as well as cubicles below and above it for lunchboxes, drink bottles and school shoes. Love it!
The hack has been wildly popular amongst with the Kmart Mums, with many creating the clever hack for their home - even painting and colour coordinating it depending on their decor and children too!
One unit by follower Hollie received a wave of positive comments from followers, all blown away by the perfect storage solution.
‘Omg thank you so much,’ said one. ‘I was just glaring at all my bags and shoes and thinking if only there was a way to organise this crap lol.’
Added another: ‘I’ve wanted to do something like this for ages! It would help so much 😍’
Said one more: ‘I did this for my twins who were in Kindy this year but we put a rod through 2 of the slots to hang their uniforms in as well it worked great everything for school was in the one spot I had boxes for undies socks singlets as well as shoes.’
Many followers suggested that the unit still works for two or three kids, meaning that there is extra space for handbags or other items. Love it!
