When it comes to parenting teenagers, there’s one gripe that all mums and dads share - the mess.
Walking through your teen’s room is like navigating a Ninja Warrior obstacle circuit, with plates, clothes and shoes strewn everywhere.
As one comedian once put it: ‘Walking into a teen’s room is like walking into IKEA - you walk in empty-handed and leave with six plates, four bowls, three mugs and a table you don’t really need.’
Well one clever baker has found a delicious way to make light of her daughter Lili’s messy room, creating this amazing ‘messy room’ cake for her 17th birthday.
Featuring a bed complete with sleeping teen, the mum has then used fondant to create all sorts of ‘mess’ below.
There are t-shirts, socks and pants - all done with different coloured icing - all over the floor and even the bed. And we particularly love the bedside table jam-packed with mess - just like all our teens’ rooms!
The photo is currently doing the rounds on social media and mums everywhere are loving the idea.
‘I am SO making this for my boy,’ said one user. Said another: ‘I don’t even know what the colour of the floor in my son’s floor is at this stage. This cake is a winner!’
We couldn’t agree more!
