Well in an exciting new twist, one shopper has taken to the amazing Markdown Addicts Australia Facebook group to reveal that she received a voucher just this week.
Says Markdown Addict member Nelia: ‘Local Coles out of BBQ chicken so I was given this voucher for a free one within 7 days.’
She adds: ‘The Deli Manager offered me the voucher when I asked how long the new batch would be? I didn’t request the voucher.’
It comes just two weeks after another shopper revealed that she too picked up some free vouchers.
Writes Ezz: ‘My intention was to grab a quick ice coffee for university with my friends. Saw the hot roast chicken cabinet and none were left. Ended up with three hot roast chicken voucher 😃 Winning.’
The reports has given hope to many who thought that the Coles hot chook policy had been scrapped, meaning that customers are within their rights to ask for a free voucher if the display is empty.
However Coles warns that the policy is only available in some locations, with a spokesperson telling News.com.au: ‘The offer is only available in select stores and times vary by location.’
Moral of the story? You just need to ask your local Coles if they're one of the participating stores - and then keep your eye out for those empty displays!
