For many shoppers, trying new products and brands can be a risky proposition. If you don’t like it, it’s money down the drain. If the kids don’t like it, it will sit in the cupboard for months.
But a little known shopping hack at ALDI has recently come to light, and it’s perfect for wary customers who are nervous to try the bargain supermarket's growing range of meals, treats and groceries.
Speaking to Yahoo, an ALDI shift manager revealed the store’s ‘Double Guarantee’ - and shared how shoppers can use the policy to try new foods for free. You see, if you buy something from ALDI and don’t like it, not only do you get your money back - ALDI will also give you a similar priced product to try for free.
Said the manager: ‘Any unused product can be returned, together with the original packaging and receipt to an ALDI Store Manager. You will be given a refund of the purchase price and issued a replacement product.
‘Use this to try new things you'd be hesitant to try anywhere else. If you don't like it, bring it back and we'll give you your money back and a similar priced product of your choice. It's a win win,” they said.
‘You either discover something new you like or you get your money back and something you're used to. Example, you want to try our chips. You buy it and think it tastes like crap. We'll give you your $3 back and a free box of cookies.’
It’s definitely food for thought, huh?!
