On the back of the hugely successful Disney Lion King Ooshie campaign, supermarket Giant Woolworths is set to launch their latest collectable promotion in just weeks.
The Garden seed collectable campaign ‘Discovery Garden’ is an environmentally friendly promotion that allows shoppers to start their own garden at home.
Similar promotions aimed at children ran with huge success in New Zealand and South Africa.
Says a Woolworths spokesperson: ‘Woolworths is excited to confirm that we will be launching Woolworths Discovery Garden in September, a new collectable designed to give Australians of all ages the opportunity to grow their very own fresh food, to give Australians of all ages the opportunity to grow their very own fresh food.’
Even before the promotion is up and running shoppers are already complaining that the so called ‘green’ campaign is not what it seems.

‘Great, what about the water restrictions, not using your head Woolies’, commented a disgruntled shopper on Facebook.
'First you flood the waterways with Ooshies and now free plants. You realise are currently in a drought, right?’, said another.
‘Little Garden was so popular in New Zealand and there were constantly lines everywhere for them. But I'm really worried about how it's going to work in Australia with water restrictions. To make these little plants thrive they need constant water and we're heading into summer. It just feels like bad timing’, said a third.
Previous garden promotions all came in biodegradable pots but Woolworths have remained tight-lipped with the exact details of ‘Discovery Garden’ packaging.
