Neighbours is returning! But we bet you never knew these stars started out on Neighbours

Robbie played Donna Freedman on Neighbours from 2008-2011.

After four years on the soap, Robbie found international fame when she was cast in Wolf Of Wall Street alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. She is now one of Hollywood’s most sought after leading ladies, most recently starring in Amsterdam, Birds of Prey and Bombshell. Robbie has even been nominated for two Academy Awards. 

Pearce played Mike Young from 1986-1989.

Neighbours was Guy Pearce’s first acting job and since then his career hasn’t been too shabby, appearing in The Count of Mounte Cristo, L.A. Confidential, The Hurt Locker, Lawless and Aussie classic Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, just to name a few. He won an Emmy for his work alongside Kate Winslet in the 2011 miniseries Mildred Pierce, and a SAG award alongside the rest of the cast for The King’s Speech.

Imbruglia played Beth Brennan from 1992-1994.

Natalie Imbruglia was only 17 when she was cast as Beth Brennan in 1992. After two years on the show she moved to London and was signed to BMG records, producing her well known hit Torn, and a subsequent five albums. In 2022, she won the UK version of The Masked Singer as ‘Panda’. 

Hemsworth played Josh Taylor from 2007-2008.

Liam Hemsworth was only on Neighbours for one year before Hollywood (and Miley Cyrus) snapped him up. Hemsworth went on to star in one of the biggest Hollywood franchises of the past 10 years, The Hunger Games, as well as Independence Day: Resurgence, the long awaited sequel to the 1996 mega block-buster Independence Day starring Will Smith. 

Goodrem starred in the role of Nina Tucker from 2002-2005.

Delta Goodrem was on Neighbours for three years before deciding to leave to pursue a music career full-time following the success of her first two albums Innocent Eyes and Mistaken Identity. In 2003 she was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma – receiving chemotherapy and radiotherapy – until December of the same year when she was placed in remission. Goodrem went on to be a judge on The Voice Australia from 2012-2020 and most recently, she opened for Backstreet Boys on the American leg of their DNA World Tour.

Stasey played Rachel Kinski from 2005-2009.

Caitlin Stasey first appeared on Neighbours at the age of 15, however her big break was her role as Frankie in Sleepover Club when she was just 13 years old. Since those first formative years on Ramsay Street, Caitlin has grown into a successful actor with roles in Tomorrow When The War Began, Please Like Me and Reign. Stasey has also established herself as a leading feminist voice in young Hollywood and founded the body positive website Herself.com. Most recently, she starred in the hit horror film, Smile. 

Taylor was cast in the role of Janae Timmins, which she played from 2003-2008.

Eliza Taylor was one busy kid when she first started appearing on Neighbours in 2003; as she was already working on Pirate Islands and Sleepover Club with fellow Neighbours alumni Caitlin Stasey. Since her departure from the show in 2008, Taylor has appeared in many Aussie favourites including Packed To The Rafters and All Saints. Since 2014, she has played the lead character Clarke Griffin in hit CW series The 100. 

Before her music career took off, Minogue played Charlene Mitchell on Neighbours from 1986-1988.

Kylie Minogue first appeared on Neighbours in 1986 and played one half of the show’s most popular couple: Lenny and Scott. Her first single ‘The Locomotion’ spent seven weeks at the top spot of the Australian charts and became one of Australia’s biggest hits of the ’80s. Today, Kylie is nothing short of Australian royalty and she’s had an extremely successful music career both here and overseas.
