The TRUTH about why Olivia Newton-John cancelled her tour

The star releases a statement.

Olivia Newton-John only announced her Australian spoken word tour last month, but yesterday it was announced that the veteran performer would be cancelling all her shows.

A representative for Newton-John has now told New Idea, ‘Olivia Newton-John’s two upcoming speaking appearances in Australia were canceled due to scheduling conflicts with her upcoming promotional tour for her new book, ‘Don’t Stop Believin’” and the ONJ Cancer Wellness & Research Centre’s Wellness Walk & Research Run – not illness as falsely reported.’

Following the show’s abrupt cancellation, many false reports surfaced that the actress, who turns 70 next month, was too ill to perform.

Newton-John is currently battling breast cancer for the second time, after it was announced in May 2017 that the cancer had returned and metastasized to her lower back.

Olivia’s rep added, ‘Olivia is looking forward to walking with everyone at the Wellness Walk on September 16th in Melbourne and, is excited that this year the walk is going global and people can support it by becoming virtual walkers from wherever they are in the world.’

The Grease actress has always been an advocate for health awareness, becoming involved with various charities, health products, and fundraising efforts.

In 2008, she raised funds to help build the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in Melbourne, by leading a three week, 228 km walk along the Great Wall of China during April joined by various celebrities and cancer survivors throughout her trek.

The walk symbolised the steps cancer patients must take on their road to recovery.
