The geniuses at Baskin-Robbins tell US site Delish that they do it by placing ice-cream in a dome-shaped mould to create the base, and then cover it with caramel-coloured frosting to create a smooth base. Then they fill ice-cream cones with buttercream then top them a scoop of extra ice-cream, before positioning the cones where the turkey legs may be and covering the lot with more caramel-covered frosting.
The ‘turkey’ is then covered with a generous amount of caramel glaze, which is made by combining vanilla gel and caramel, and ribbons added to the tips of the ‘legs’ to give it an authentic look. Amazing!
We - along with the rest of the world! - just can’t get over how real it looks! The only concern we did have is whether Baskin-Robbins used a bizarre turkey-flavoured ice-cream for the base, but we were happy to see that Oreo and mint flavoured variations were used. Phew! Now that would’ve been weird!
