Who doesn’t love a good caramel slice? A yummy, biscuity base with a gooey caramel layer - and then topped with delicious chocolate. YUM.
But while we’ve all got our own favourite recipe - our top one is here! - it seems there’s one caramel slice that constantly being talked about by mums around Australia, for a one very special reason.
Em from That Organised Mum often posts pics of her cracker caramel slice on her Instagram page - attracting thousands of likes and comments.
‘This is my favourite caramel slice ever,’ wrote one follower. Said another: ‘OMG, your caramel slice is the best ever!’
And there’s one thing that people notice more than anything - that thick, smooth and delicious chocolate layer.
Says one social media user: ‘What do you do to the chocolate to make it look so smooth?’ said one. Added another: ‘I can never get my chocolate to look that smooth and thick - how do you do it?’
Said a third: ‘How do you get it so that the chocolate doesn't crack?!’ And one more: ‘Oh my god, that caramel:biscuit:chocolate ratio...salivating here.’

One thing’s for sure, Em’s best ever caramel slice never lasts long when she makes it.
When she made it for her dad’s birthday, she explains: ‘We went to visit him at his work and took a tray of caramel slice for morning tea, that would have to be a world record time it’s all been demolished!’
With another batch, the home baker wrote: ‘Caramel slice was all eaten verrrryyyy quickly as usual 😆’
