She writes: ‘Sharing a hack! Just in case there is a mum out there like me who for years wasted shallots and fresh herbs, you have to try this.
‘Empty a plastic bottle and make sure it is dry, then fill it with the leftover fresh cuts and pop it in the freezer.
‘The outside of the bottle freezes leaving the herbs good to shake and go, ready for next use with no wastage. You're welcome!’
Tamara goes on to say that she’s previously tried to freeze her herbs in airtight containers with no luck - but has had big success with the bottle method.
‘I tried [airtight containers] first but they iced over inside. These have been frozen for over 2 months in the bottles and haven't iced up.’
She also added that the hack works on chopped veggies such as shallots and capsicum, adding that ‘everything she cooked in her pan', photographed above, was kept in the freezer bottle. Amazing!
The hack has had the big thumbs up from the other Mums Who Cook & Bake members who loved the ingenious idea.
‘I did not know this!!!’ wrote one mum. Added another: ‘Wow, good tip - I never knew this!’
Said a third: ‘Wow, i never knew this , thanks for the tip!’
