We’ve all got them. Those old plastic containers and Tupperware containers with stubborn red stains, caused by tomato-based pasta sauces, lasagna and curries.
You scrub, you wash, you put them in the dishwasher over and over - but nothing gets rid of the red and orange stains, are we right?
Well one clever lady at the awesome Kmart Mums Australia Facebook group has revealed her genius hack for removing the stains - and it’s SUPER simple!
Using the Kmart Cleaning Erasers - which cost $2 for a pack of 6 from the laundry section - Kmart Mum member Joanne says they’re perfect for removing the unsightly stains.
Joanne wrote: ‘Plastic tubs stained orange from tomato based sauce - use a magic eraser to get it off! Kmart sell them in the laundry section 🤣’
Joanne posted a photo of her transformed container after being given a once over with the cleaning eraser - and sure enough, it looks brand new!
Love it! The simple hack was a hit with the other Kmart Mums, who
couldn’t wait to give it a go.
‘No waaaaaay!!’ said one. Added another: ‘I’m so trying this tomorrow!’
Others added their tips for removing the stubborn stains, with several suggesting that spraying cooking spray was the way to go.
‘You can also spray non stick spray before filling it with sauce and it won’t stain,’ said one follower.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the Kmart magic erasers at work around the home. The cleaning pads have already been credited with transforming shower screens, kitchen cabinet doors and even couches!
‘I use magic eraser for everything!’ wrote one. Added another: ‘I use it to clean my bath/bathroom tiles. No cleaner or mould remover required. Just add water.’
