The photograph shows scores of tiles and various minis scattered across the table - as well as a GOLDEN Billy Banana mini at the back.
The photo prompted the curious Reddit user to ask: ‘Wait... Did this library just give away a $20k golden banana Stikeez?’
Various angles and photos of the Stikeez range appear to confirm that there was a Golden Billy Banana on offer. Many Stikeez fans have confirmed that the mini in the photo is indeed the rare collectable - while others are more skeptical, wondering if the photo has been photoshopped.
To get to the bottom of the mystery, we asked a photoshop expert whether they thought the image could’ve been doctored and they said the photo looks legitimate.
Interesting! Looks like there just might be a very happy Stikeez fan in Broken Hill with a new Golden Billy Banana in their possession!
The story comes just days after it was revealed that a seven-year-old boy with autism bought a $10k Golden Billy Banana on eBay - paying for it in just three clicks on his mother’s credit card, WITHOUT her knowing.
While the seller and PayPal refused to refund the unfortunate purchase, eBay did the right thing and arranged for the distressed mum to receive the payment.
As one social media user wrote: ‘$10k for a bit of plastic? This is insanity! Australia is going Stikeez mad!’
