‘Ladies I finally hacked my kmart kitchen!!!’ she wrote. ‘All the paint work is spray paint including the phone, and rose gold taps and sink.
‘The splash back is also spray paint. I sprayed it white then taped it and sprayed it pink.
‘I took the entire thing apart to paint it all. I added a door handle to the side to use as a tea towel holder. I would advise using a satin finish spray paint so its easier to wipe down.’
The makeover mum also added some other Kmart budget items to her kitchen hack, including a $9 faux plant, wooden pots and pans and a very clever $10 phone hack - and it’s been given the big thumbs up from the group’s thousands of followers.
‘That’s the best kitchen hack I’ve ever seen! Fabulous job.’ wrote one follower.
Said another: ‘You are a legend. Thanks so much for sharing this is one of the best hacks to me so far!’
The bad news for those looking to take inspiration from Susan’s masterpiece and do their own is that the Kmart wooden kitchen is a little hard to come by, selling out very quick online. But Kmart Mums Australia fans suggest keeping an eye out in store, where the cult item often pops up out of the blue.
