The Facebook group’s followers were blown by the reduction - not to mention the saving compared to pre-Christmas turkey prices.
Wrote one: ‘Damn! I paid $70 for 2.5kg turkey for Christmas!!’ Replied another: ‘Everyone does.. just shows how much they are worth hey!! Although I’m sure the shops would be taking a loss for these types of clearances. We got some this week for $2.’
Other followers revealed that they’d scored similar bargains, encouraging others to check out their local supermarkets.
Said one: ‘Scored one half an hour ago at my local Coles.😋’ Added another: ‘Haha you beat mine by 75c great buy!!’
Said a third: ‘I saw the Steggles turkey at Coles for $9 and thought it was good but this is awesome!
