4-5 figs, halved
2 tbsp caster sugar
¼ tsp ground ginger
100ml/3½fl oz double cream, to serve
Preheat the grill. Put the figs, cut-side up, on a baking tray. Mix together the sugar and ginger, before sprinkling liberally over the figs.
Place beneath the grill, not too close to the top, and cook for 6-8 mins, until toasted with a tinged edge, offering the cream ready to drizzle over.
