UPDATE: The Golden Billy Bananas Stikeez which has had all of Australia captivated has SOLD on eBay for a whopping $20,100.
After 65 bids, one buyer picked up the Coles mini - one of only 100 produced - for the staggering sum, shocking Stikeez fans around Australia.
EARLIER: He’s the super rare Coles Stikeez that collectors all over the country have been desperate for.
With only 100 Golden Billy Bananas made by the supermarket giant, they’re highly sought after - and it seems people are willing to pay BIG BUCKS just to get their hands on one.
So much so that bidding on one auction of the super rare mini has reached a whopping $15,000 on eBay - with two hours of bidding still left.
And given that the price has risen from $10,000 up to $15,000 - the price of a brand new small car - today alone, it’s fair say that the Golden Billy Banana could top $20,000.
The auction has sent social media wild, with many in shock that people are willing to pay such big money for a Coles collectable.
On a post by Facebook’s hottest new shopping site, I Bought It At, one wrote: ‘More money than sense.’ Added another: ‘Absolutely first world idiocy.’
