But when shoppers went onto the site this morning to place their orders they were hit with another stipulation - that shoppers were limited to just 20 products.
While there’s no doubt that Woolies introduced the 20-item rule so that there’d be enough products to go around for shoppers Australia-wide, it’s still left some disappointed.
Taking to the Markdown Addicts Australia Facebook page, one shopper wrote: ‘How do you get around 20 items? This sucks. I want to order more like 100 items as we are a family of 7 and our freezer is empty atm.’
Many suggested doing multiple orders to get around the 20-product maximum.
Said one: ‘It worked perfectly on their version of the site with all prices updated but I did have to place three separate pick up orders because it wouldn’t let me get more than 20 sale items at once.’
Added another: ‘Ditto - 60 items purchased over 3 orders. Stupid!’
Others spoke of their frustration at various glitches on the Woolworths website.
Said one: ‘I gave up after 2 and a half hours!!!’ Added another: ‘Mine won’t let me pay.’
Said a third: ‘This is too annoying now, the site is frustrating lol it's been an hour and a half and I'm asking myself if it's worth it lol good lucky everyone xx’
But many spoke at their excitement at picking up lots of bargains in the sale.
‘All done went in twice lol spent $100 saved $100,’ said one happy shopper. Added another: ‘I ordered exactly 20 freezer items and then a heap we needed happened to be in the weekly hAlf price deals .. especially coffee lol .. I spent $142 & saved $152.’
