Target Australia has issued an urgent recall on one of their most popular cooking sets.
The ‘Starter Cookset with Utensils’ were sold in stores across Australia between March 2016 and March this year. There are now urgent warnings from the ACCC Product Safety and Target that customers should stop using them immediately amid concerns they could get seriously injured.
There are fears that the handles on the pots and frypan included in the set could detach - leading customers to possibly spill boiling water or hot contents all over themselves
Says Target: 'At Target Australia, the safety of our customers and their families is our highest priority. This is why we’ve decided to conduct a voluntary recall of the Starter Cookset With Utensils due to a safety issue.
'This item was available for purchase between March 2016 and March 2019 inclusive.
'We recommend you stop using the item immediately and return it to a Target or Target Country store as soon as possible, with or without a receipt, where our team members will provide you with a full refund.'
The 11-piece set consists of a frying pan, three pots, a strainer and various utensils including a whisker, egg flipper, potato masher and three ladles.
Even if customers don’t have all the pieces to the set, they’re still entitled to the refund - even if they don’t have a receipt.
The recall comes just days after Kmart issued a recall on their popular portable coffee cups.
