The solution? Emma bought all three flavours - chocolate, white chocolate and caramel - and cut pieces from each and then fit them all together in an alternate pattern to form a cake.
She explains: ‘When you can’t decide what flavour cake to make for your friends birthday! Hubby got afternoon tea at work with the left overs!’
Describing that she did three different amazing topping combinations for each of the different flavours, to say they sound amazing is an enormous understatement.
She tells her fellow Woolies/Coles Mudcake Hacks Facebook members that the white chocolate had ‘vanilla buttercream, lemon curd and strawberries’ while the caramel flavour featured ‘chocolate buttercream, caramel popcorn and salted caramel sauce.’ And the chocolate mud cake? Well that came complete with ‘chocolate buttercream, Oreo cookie and chocolate fudge sauce.’
YUM.
As Emma mentioned, she used leftovers from the mud cakes that weren’t used in her friend’s cake for afternoon tea at her husband’s work place - making for some very happy co-workers!
But we love the idea because it means you can combine all sorts of flavours and decorations, depending on people’s tastes! Emma, you’re a genius!
The idea went got the big thumbs up from the group’s other followers, who were blown away.
