She’s just months away from officially becoming a royal, but Meghan’s choice of wedding cake sends out a clear message: she’s doing the wedding her way.
When Kensington Palace announced last week that Claire Ptak, owner of East London’s Violet Bakery, was Meghan’s choice of wedding cake designer, friends weren’t surprised by the former actresses insistence on breaking with royal tradition.
‘She’s got warm elegance, though her style is hard to pin down. It’s classy and timeless,’ friend Abigail Spencer has said of Meghan.
That certainly appears to be the case, with the palace confirming it’s ‘a lemon elder ower cake that will incorporate the bright flavours of spring’.
In keeping with Meghan’s love of all things organic, Claire – who Meghan once interviewed for her lifestyle blog The Tig – is famed for using organic, locally sourced ingredients and fresh owers to decorate.
