Sharing her story on the Markdown Addicts Australia Facebook group, Michelle writes: ‘Not a markdown just a bloody awesome score which will make my little ones week!
‘My local Woolies had this gorgeous older couple in the store and we were helping them. They then offered me there Ooshies which I graciously accepted and asked me which one my daughter is on the hunt for? I replied the Golden Scar and next thing I know the attendant fills my bag with Ooshies 😆.
‘Kindness doesn’t go unnoticed ♥️ $40 spent on groceries and 40 Ooshies later.’
Michelle posted a photo of her stash, above, and later added that her daughter managed to score the Golden Scar. ‘Seeing our children find excitement in the littlest things brings us so much happiness as parents,’ she added.
The post prompted a wave of comments from people congratulating Michelle on her score, with one writing: ‘How wonderful that you were rewarded for your kindness.’
Others noted that their local Woolies still had Ooshies available, with some stores on the Gold Coast, Melton and South Yarra in Victoria and several in coastal towns of NSW still reportedly having stock.
Others reported that their local Woolies were ‘handing them out’ to try and get rid of excess Ooshies stock.
‘My local is still handing them out & I was told there was an over supply so instead of finishing by the cut off date they’d be handing them out until they were all gone,’ said one.
Added another: ‘The lady at my Woolies gave my 3-year-old an Ooshie for saying hello then asked how old he was and iI told him to say 3 so she gave him 3 more ooshies :)’
Said another: ‘Just went to my local, they’ve changed it 1 for every $20, and not giving bonus ooshies.’
Added one more: ‘My woolies were handing them out in large amounts to get rid of them.’ Said another social media user, who apparently works at Woolies: ‘Promotion is finished but my store where I work had 2 boxes when I came to work, don’t know why or how.’
Another shopper shared a photo of her son’s enormous stash after picking up excess Ooshies
But not everyone was blown away by Michelle’s Ooshies scores. Said one: ‘That’s a great score. Not trying to be a downer, but when the sales people do that, they run out faster. I purchased over $100 of groceries from my local Woollies and she said they’d run out of ooshies. So I missed out, even though I’d spent $100 😢.’
