If you’re someone who LOVES Christmas, then we have great news for you.
One US psychoanalyst has revealed that putting up your festive decorations early can make you happier - pretty much giving the green light for Christmas fans to go nuts with the tinsel, tree and garlands right NOW.
Expert Steve McKeown tells Unilad: ‘In a world full of stress and anxiety, people like to associate to things that make them happy and Christmas decorations evoke those strong feelings of the childhood.
‘Decorations are simply an anchor or pathway to those old childhood magical emotions of excitement. So putting up those Christmas decorations early extends the excitement!’

‘Nostalgia helps link people to their personal past and it helps people understand their identity,’ psychotherapist Amy Morin told Unilad. ‘For many, putting up Christmas decorations early is a way for them to reconnect with their childhoods.’
Another study also found that putting up decorations can help you connect with more people and make friends, as it gives neighbours and acquaintances more to chat with you about.
