Woman stabbed in violent clash at Costco store in Melbourne

A Costco employee has allegedly been stabbed by another staff member at one of the discount giant's Melbourne stores.

The violent crash erupted between two women at the Epping store on Thursday afternoon with customers nearby.

One of the women, a 45-year-old, was allegedly stabbed several times in the upper body but was not seriously hurt.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to the Northern Hospital, which is right next door to the Costco.

A 20-year-old woman was arrested in the store and is being interviewed by detectives.

One shopper said he saw the incident, which he claimed occurred in the bakery section.

"I heard a scream and there was a lady that got stabbed by ... it looked like a person working in the same department," he told 3AW radio.

"I heard the screams and went over and checked it out and saw the staff members come over.

"I saw them carry the knife away as well."
