Spotted by a shopper and posted on the company Facebook page was a rather embarrassing spelling error that has customers in stitches.
"Merry Christhmas" on a festive beer stubby holder some how slipped through and made its way onto Woolworths shelves.
The error was only picked up and recalled after it was noticed by a Woolworths customer.
“Woolies have misspelt Christmas...I think I need one anyway just for the laughs?” the woman wrote.
Whilst Woolies staff were alerted and directed to remove the misspelled Christmas stock off the shelves, customers were busy having a laugh at the irony of the spelling.
“No it's right, you slur your words when you’re drunk,” commented one.
"You had one job Woolies", said another.
Woolworths floor staff admitted that they too did not notice the spelling mistake.
"It was pointed out this afternoon. I was too ashamed to admit we totally missed it", commented a staff member.
"We got the recall tonight", another posted on Saturday.
Woolworths issued the recall on Friday, stores actioned the recall over the weekend.
