Woolworths is investigating claims that a staff member may be illegally selling The Lion King Ooshies on the side.
The claim comes after an eagled-eyed shopper noticed an advertisement from someone selling a huge stash of the Woolies collectables - on the day they landed in store - and notified the supermarket giant via their Facebook page.
The ad shows at least 50 unopened Ooshies for sale at $4 each, with the seller noting that they’re based in Adelaide, SA.
Christopher, who spotted the ad, writes: ‘You may want to find out if this guy works for you as there is a lot of unopened and full set yet this promotion has been out for a day.’
A fellow social media user added: ‘I’ve seen them advertised on buy swap sell pages for $50 each it’s disgusting.’
Woolworths didn’t take long to respond to the concerned post, vowing to investigate the matter.
‘Hi Christopher, we take the selling of The Lion King Ooshies and merchandise on eBay very seriously and and we are making every effort to investigate this.’
We have reached out to Woolworths for comment.
