Woolworths was fast to reply to Emily's post on Facebook: "We're very concerned about this, Emily , and take incidents like this very seriously. For your awareness this has been escalated for immediate investigation."
Speaking to New Idea Food, a Woolworths spokesperson said they are investigating the complaint.
"We are aware of the report and have been in touch with the customer to seek further details", the spokesperson said.
The incident comes just months after a Woolworths customer found a piece of metal in her yoghurt. And just recently, a batch of Woolworths Chicken Kievs were recalled by authorities due to the presence of broken plastic in the meat.
